What could care cost?

A monthly price fits your budget. Before comparing it with another offer, ask whether both prices cover the same things.

As of September 2026.

Price depends on the payment route

A drug's published list price, cash offer and insured payment are different prices, rather than a single cost everyone pays.

Use a cash range with its limits

Blank paper slips and a plain notebook arranged on a warm wooden table with a woven tray.

For common weight-care drugs, most maker cash offers were between $149 and $499 a month as of September 2026.

The amount depended on the product and strength, and some refill terms could lead to higher prices.

Some offers defined a month as 28 days; others sold a box of injection pens or a bottle of 30 tablets as a month's supply.

Ask how many doses are included, how long that supply lasts and when the next payment is due. Do not assume each payment buys a calendar month's supply.

As recorded in September 2026, many discount offers promised prices only through December 31, 2026, and some savings cards said their savings would end that day.

Ask for the current drug price and the separate cost of care.

Put the whole bill on the same sheet

For some online weight-care services, a monthly membership fee pays for access to care; the medicine has its own charge.

Ask for each charge in writing. If one package price covers several services, write that price down and list the visits, tests, medicine or other services included.

  • What does the assessment cost?
  • Is the medicine included?
  • Are tests, shipping and follow-up extra?
  • What is the regular price after the opening offer?
  • What happens to the charge if no prescription is issued?
  • Is there a commitment or cancellation charge?

Compare cash with coverage before choosing a route

Cash payments outside insurance generally do not count toward the plan's deductible or out-of-pocket limit.

A deductible is the amount paid before certain insurance benefits begin. An out-of-pocket limit caps certain covered costs you pay yourself.

Ask the plan for the drug's coverage terms. Then compare the full cash bill with the covered bill.

Medicare's temporary GLP-1 Bridge program offers certain weight-care medicines to people who qualify for $50 a month; that price is separate from the cash range above.
