Which Nevada rules matter first?

A website says the service is available nationwide. You are in Nevada. Start with the state rules that apply to the person and the prescription.

As of September 2026.

Patient location comes first

If you are in Nevada during a phone or screen visit, the person treating you generally needs the right Nevada license for their profession.

A screen does not remove the state check

Care may come from a physician assistant, a doctor or a nurse practitioner. Telehealth means getting care by screen or phone while you and that person are in different places.

Nevada allows care to start online when that fits the medical issue.

Phone-only visits count as telehealth in Nevada; email and fax do not.

Ask how the person treating you will learn enough about your health problem to decide what care you need.

Check the pharmacy as well as the person treating you

A pharmacy outside the state needs a Nevada license before shipping prescriptions to people in Nevada.

An internet pharmacy outside the state also needs Nevada to certify it.

Ask the pharmacy to explain its Nevada license and certification. Use the board's records rather than a seal on the sales page.

A wellness label is not prescribing authority

An unlicensed Nevada wellness service cannot prescribe drugs, diagnose disease or do work that punctures the skin.

If a Nevada health ad names a person giving care, it must state what kind of license that person holds.

Ask for that license type before comparing packages. Bring a question about a particular offer to the board that oversees the person.
